Cross laminated timber (CLT) panels were installed on a mixed exposure concrete slab in this extension, which also features a separate self-contained living space and outdoor stairs leading to a rooftop garden and deck. The CLT acts as both a structural element and design feature in the living room and kitchen, where the timber can be seen on walls and ceiling. The renovation of the existing weatherboard front included detailed air sealing with vapour permeable wraps.
